Clean, Repair and Preserve.
We use professional quality products applied in a professional manner. Some competitors quote low restoration costs because they are pro's at cutting corners with sloppy cleaning preparation, cheap products and very little attention to detail.
The final result of a proper deck restoration is only as good as the initial cleaning of the surface. The cleaning of the aged wood on your deck is the most important step in the entire restoration process.
Depending on our evaluation of your deck, we may apply either a commercial grade cleaning detergent or a chemical finish remover. These professional cleaners and strippers will remove years of UV sun damage, dirt, mildew and layers of existing sealant. A low pressure wash will rinse away these chemicals to reveal a clean wood surface.
After a thorough rinse a neutralizing solution is applied to the deck surface to balance the pH of the wood and counteract any cleaning or stripping compounds left behind. This is also known as the brightening step because it returns the color of the wood to when it was newly constructed.
Once the deck has been fully cleaned and neutralized, we proceed to set any protruding nails and screws, lightly sand hand rails to eliminate any rough edges. After the deck has had time to dry to a suitable moisture level we make sure to mask your house and any vegetation to protect against the staining process.
After the cleaning, repairs and prep work are complete we apply a professional quality oil-based sealant to all surfaces, railings, posts and steps. Our sealing product penetrates deep into the woods surface and gives your wood superior resistance to water, mold and mildew.
